A successful advertising executive finds his ideal life falling apart when his tortured childhood unlocks suppressed violence that's been simmering inside for years, and his inner-demons come out to play. Ray Ryan has a beautiful home, a loving fiancée, and he's just received a sizable new promotion at work. So why is it that no matter how much he achieves in life, Ray always feels like he's always teetering on the edge of some black, emotional abyss? Lately, Ray's nightmares are giving way to visions of his violent childhood, when he and his mother suffered under the brutal tyranny of his abusive father. When Ray viciously assaults a man in a parking lot, an ageing detective with an interesting history sets out to investigate the case and tie up some loose ends from the past.
